Meissen plate decorated in the kakiemon style and recorded in the Meissen archives as 'Teller mit gelbem Löwen'. This is translated nowadays as the yellow tiger since it does in fact resemble a tiger more than a lion. The moulded pattern on the plate was designed by Eberlein in 1741 and it is known as the Altbrandenstein pattern.
