To the bottom left of the scene is the signature Richter inv. Adrian Ludwig Richter was a painter, illustrator and teacher at the Meissen school of painting from 1828-1835. To the bottom right of the scene are the initials CH. Carl Ernst Hummel was a painter at the Meissen factory c.1855 specialising in landscapes and figures. It is very unusual for the Meissen factory to allow its artists to sign their work.
